STUDY VISA
Non-EU students who wish to study in Italy for a period longer than 90 days must ask for a Study Visa at the Italian Embassy in their country of origin. Documents normally requested are
-Passport valid at least 6 months over the planned stay in Italy
Evidence of purchase of the return plane ticket
-Certificate of Residence or the Invitation letter (in case there is someone hosting the student in Italy)
-Certificate of Enrolment in the school. The student must attend a course of at least 20 hours a week throughout the time of stay
-Evidence of the total payment of the course
-Guarantee of availability of sufficient economic means throughout the duration of the stay in Italy (http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/Moduli/it/Direttiva_MinInterno_1-3-2000.pdf): about € 1,000.00 per month.
-A health care insurance policy coveting the whole period of stay. Visit the following website for more information https://www.waitaly.net/en/pacchetti-welcome/cittadino-extra-ue-richiedente-permesso-di-soggiorno/
Please remember that the Visa must be requested personally with all original documents and photocopies,
and that the response may require up to 30 days depending on the nationality of the student
The fee has to be fully paid before the issue of the certificate of enrolment. The school will be able to refund between 90 and 95% of the enrolment fee in case of study visa denial but the student has to return to the school all the original documentation issued at enrolment.
The student has a duty to inform the school promptly if the study visa is denied, and in any case, no more than 30 days after the course starting date.
If these conditions are not met, the enrolment fee cannot be refunded.
Types of payment accepted:
Courses may be cancelled by sending an email to "Istituto Dante Alighieri Milano".
There is no refund for students who begin a course late or decide not to terminate such course. Course fees cannot be transferred to other students.
If the student should find it necessary to postpone or interrupt the course for very serious reasons, he may ask for a "tuition fee credit" for that portion of the course he will not be attending. This "credit" is valid for the ongoing academic year. With a minimum of four weeks' notice and the agreement of the Director of Studies, students attending courses of 24 weeks or longer may take a break during their studies.
Partecipation fees for group courses cannot under any circumstances be transferred to individual classes unless the students is willing to pay a penalty fee of € 120,00 for the requested change. In any event, changes are not possible subsequent to the course activation date.
The Institute has the right to postpone group courses to later dates if the minimum number of students per group is not reached. Where insufficient bookings lead us to cancel any course mentioned, we will make every effort to offer an alternative course
